Once upon a time, there was a young woman in a hospitality program at a four year university who was a little lost. She wasn't quite sure what she wanted to do with her life when a school counselor suggested Disney could be the perfect place to start her career. She decided to make it happen then never looked back, and even started telling everyone she was leaving New Hampshire for California in six months, well before she had even applied for the job. And guess what!? That young woman was me! And, surprise - I got the job! I was accepted to the Spring/Summer 2009 Disney College Program. When I chose the position of a Photopass Photographer, I had no idea how much my life was about to change.
Karina & Tom | One Year Later
It's crazy to think an entire year has passed since Karina and Tom said "I Do"! May 22, 2016 was a perfect day. The bride, groom, and their families all pitched in to make this Sunday evening, DIY wedding one they would always remember.
Maid of Honor, twin sister of the bride, Maria, did her beautiful makeup. Maria's boyfriend (now fiancé, congrats!), Brooklyn artist, Erik Jones, performed their ceremony. The mother of the bride cooked tamales for all the guests. Many other family members took time to assemble their flowers that morning. All to make it the most beautiful celebration of love for these newlyweds.
My favorite part about Karina and Tom's wedding day was how simple they wanted to keep everything. The whole day really was all about celebrating their love and new lives together. This truly reflected who they are as a couple.
Congratulations Karina & Tom! Happy one year anniversary!

Mallory & Clayton | Mill Town Historic District Wedding | New Braunfels, TX
In January of 2009 one of Mallory's roommates invited an old friend from high school, Clayton, over to their apartment. At first, she was under the impression he was married so she skipped her usual makeup routine and stayed in her pajamas. As the evening went on, she learned he was not married and as they talked, became very interested in each other. Soon after, the couple started spending lots of time together and began to fall in love over movie nights in with takeout on the couch. When their first Valentine's Day came around, Clayton got Mallory a special edition of "The Wizard of Oz", her all-time favorite movie, and she knew he was The One when she opened his thoughtful gift.
Seven years later, he popped the question, and she said yes! Last summer, I got to travel to Texas for their engagement session and on April 28, 2017 had the honor of capturing their spring country wedding.
Highlights of the day include Mallory's emotional first look with her father, Scott, the bride walking down the aisle to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", and capturing all the unique details they incorporated of their favorite things (movies, specifically The Wizard of Oz, and baseball).
This particular wedding was so special for me because they're my future in-laws! It was amazing to witness how much love is shared by this family.
Congratulations Mallory & Clayton! Wishing you many years of happiness together.

Belle & Jaimie | Austin "Engagement Session"
Normally, I like to start off my blog posts with a story about my couple. For this one, take a look at their downtown Austin session first and you can read more about Belle & Jaimie below!

How gorgeous is this pair?! My camera almost couldn't handle how hot they were! Their chemistry was insane and I absolutely LOVED shooting these two, it's definitely a session to remember.
Now, would you believe me if I told you they aren't a real couple?! They actually met the morning these images were taken!
Last summer, I was heading down to Austin for Mallory & Clayton's hill country engagement session when I thought it would be fun to do a couples shoot near Sixth Street, too. There is something I can't explain about Austin, I just love the grittiness, the weirdness, the artistry of the city, and the vibe it gives off. I started looking around on Instagram and found this cotton-candy-colored goddess via hashtags! I knew I needed to photograph her immediately and reached out. Fortunately for me, she was totally into the idea! After a few weeks, she then used social media to find Jaimie!
We met on top of an Austin parking garage on a HOT Texas morning and clicked right away. They had even brought completely unplanned coordinating outfits! It couldn't have gone more perfectly, don't you think?! Thank you both for being amazing models, people, and for letting a complete stranger from NYC talk you into this crazy photo shoot!
